As a My Guide volunteer you would be partnered with a service user for 3 to 6 months. You would then meet them once a week and go out with them for up to three hours, supporting them with things like going shopping or attending social or leisure activities. You will also help them to get to know other people who work at or use the same shops and facilities.
The aim is to help the service user develop more confidence and independence, to eventually feel OK about going out and doing some of these things on their own.
